We have been a fully integrated multi-agency centre for 28 years, providing services for children under 5 and their families.
The centre has six domains of activity:
1. Education and Learning 0 – 3’s
We have a 12 fte place Baby and Toddler Nest for children from one – two and a half years of age.
A crèche for children from twelve weeks of age, operating in conjunction with the groupwork programme.
2. Education and Learning 2 – 5’s
An 80 fte place Nursery, based in two play spaces, the Snug and the Den. Children are able to move freely throughout the nursery, accessing both play spaces and gardens.
3. After School and Holiday Playscheme 4 – 11’s
An ASC and Holiday Playscheme for children from 4 – 11 years of age, operating from 3pm – 6pm Monday – Friday, and 7.45am – 6.00pm during the holidays.
4. Family Support Team and Community Health Team
A multi-disciplinary team operating a home visiting service in conjunction with Home Start and a groupwork programme with groups being offered seven days a week. Some services run in partnership with external agencies.
5. Research, Training and Development Team
Offering continuing professional development opportunities in-house as well as nationally and internationally. Also leading practitioner research projects alongside staff across the centre.
6. Adult Community Education Team
Offering vocational and non-vocational courses for adults within the community. Some of the courses have been written by teams of staff in the centre, and offer accreditation through the Open College Network.
